Entrepreneur, Professional in Human Resources, Role Model
Every great leader has a quote that seems to define them personally and represent their life’s work.
Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
Steve Jobs: “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
Tammy Cohen: “I build people, not businesses.”
Ms. Cohen is known as many things: successful female entrepreneur, accomplished business owner, mother, generous philanthropist and community activist. The one common denominator in each of these roles is what drives Tammy: People. Her 100-plus employees are her biggest fans – and for good reason. Tammy doesn’t just employ her team – she empowers them to be all they can both within the company and in their communities.
Tammy personifies the American dream. 25 years ago, Tammy’s experiences as an administrative assistant gave her the idea to found InfoMart. Her fiery determination and commitment to realizing her big dream helped Tammy develop and grow her business into one of the largest screening firms in the country. The multi-million dollar company has won numerous national and local awards, and is consistently recognized at the top of its industry.
Never one to sideline a good idea, Tammy combined her practical experience with her culinary interests to craft another recipe for success: Amy & Tammy’s Box Lunch Company. The catering company offers boardrooms a fun and whimsical culinary experience that is all that and a bag of chips!
Tammy’s next frontier? She hopes to empower administrative assistants to achieve their own best practices that will dramatically impact their workplaces, their communities, and their futures. According to Tammy,
“The sky is the limit if you have administrative skills.”
She certainly would know.
